DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to welcome Emmie\, The « … » : a creative structure built entirely from scrap materials found across the streets of London and Croydon; inviting us to collaborate and play\, talk and share learning. Devised by Emma Hafner from the MA Architecture course at Central Saint Martins\, this mini-residency is helping us explore the future of The Story Sanctuary as a cooperative enterprise. \n\n\n\nOur second workshop in the series of three is called Table Talk – collaborative conversations about the importance and fragility of our community spaces and how to hold them well for the long term. \n\n\n\nA slow and thoughtful session\, low demand and neuro-affirming: free to attend\, refreshments available.  We have five fabulous speakers lined up: Emma Hafner\, Michelle Ruiz – a Strategic Designer and Researcher\, Rebecca Sainsot-Reynolds – an artist\, educator and organiser\, Claudia Golder-Coelho – Chair of Queer Croydon\, and Jill Finch from A Collective who is also leading on The Story Sanctuary project. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be discussing how to build community spaces\, how fragile they are\, and how we can make them better! \n\n\n\nIn partnership with Queer Croydon and A Collective.Open to everyone – age 16+! Free to attend!! \n\n\n\nRefreshments provided. \n\n\n\nWorkshop series and residency sponsored by A Collective and Autistic Youth Hub. \n\n\n\nPractical Details: \n\n\n\nOur building is not (yet) fully accessible\, there are steps down to the toilets which are not suitable for wheelchair users or those who need assistance.

DESCRIPTION:Come help us build a cardboard junk modelled world! \n\n\n\nWe’re thrilled to be joined by students from the MA Architecture course at Central St Martins for a mini-residency helping us to explore our future as a community space and organisation. \n\n\n\nEmma and Lumie\, currently in their final year are on a mission to activate public spaces with collaborative\, fun and free workshops\, talks\, events\, and other forms of knowledge exchange around London\, where everyone can define and redefine the « … » of Emmie\, The …  \n\n\n\nEmmie\, The « … » is a mobile workshop made entirely from scrap materials found around the streets of London and Croydon! \n\n\n\nEmmie is coming to The Story Sanctuary as “Emmie the Future Crafter” and we’ll be exploring what community means to us all via crafting\, conversation and more. \n\n\n\nOur last workshop in the series of three is called Card-Possibilities and we’ll be doing some large scale making and junk modelling with cardboard thinking about what The Story Sanctuary could be!Open to everyone – all ages from 5-95+! Free to attend!! \n\n\n\nWorkshop series and residency sponsored by A Collective. \n\n\n\nPractical Details: \n\n\n\nOur building is not (yet) fully accessible\, there are steps down to the toilets which are not suitable for wheelchair users or those who need assistance. \n\n\n\nPlease wear clothes that you don’t mind getting glue on 🙂 \n\n\n\nUnder 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
